TWO acclaimed Northern writers are to give readings from their new books in Bury, as part of the annual Read Regional campaign celebrates literature from the North of England.
On March 11 Laura Steven will be reading from her new book The Exact Opposite Of Okay, at Bury Library from 6pm.
The book tells the story of an aspiring comedian whose world implodes when dirty pictures involving her, a politician’s son and a garden bench emerge online.
Then on March 28 Catherine Isaac will read from her new book You, Me, Everything; at Prestwich Library from 7pm.
Her first novel published under her own name in more than a decade — the story follows a single mother called Jess, who sets off with her ten-year-old son William to spend a summer in the Dordogne, where her ex-boyfriend Adam – William’s father – runs a hotel.
You, Me, Everything has been translated into 21 languages and a film based on the book is currently under development.
Free tickets are available from Eventbrite.
