A WOMAN has died following a crash in Bury.

Emergency services were called to Bond Street at around 6.10pm on Friday January 25 after two cars collided.

The driver of a red Ford Ka - a woman believed to be 56 - is thought to have fallen ill behind the wheel. 

Ambulance crews, members of the air ambulance and fire crews were at the scene for around an hour. 

A 13-month-old baby and two adults who had been in the other vehicle - a silver BMW 320 - are not understood to have injured in the incident, but were treated for shock.

The BMW's driver remained at the scene and spoke with police.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who saw the incident take place or saw the cars in the area before the crash to come forward with information.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "The thoughts of the officers are with her family at this sad time. 

"A file will be passed to the coroner. "
