COUNCIL coffers could be boosted by the sale of some of its property portfolio.

A number of sites owned by Blackburn with Darwen Council are set to go under the hammer next month through Pugh Auctions.

Five land garage sites valued at a combined £58,000 from around the borough are among the lots to be up for sale.

They are at Mile End Row, Rosewood Avenue, Paignton Road, Red Rake and Opal Street in Blackburn.

A temporary car park at Richmond Hill and Tontine Street in Blackburn is offered for sale with a guide price of £225,000.

Houses at 98 and 100 Marsh House Lane in Darwen are listed for sale at £75,000 and £85,000 respectively, while the council is also trying to offload its property at 594 Whalley New Road with a guide price of £95,000.

The auction will be held at AJ Bell Stadium in Salford on February 19.

The sale is scheduled to start at noon.
