THE chairman of the Bolton Premier Quiz League, Peter Greenwood has stepped down after 20 years in the role.

Retired teacher Mr Greenwood made the announcement at the league's finals night and presentation evening.

He told the audience that he had thoroughly enjoyed his time as chairman but that it was time to hand over the reins to someone else.

Andy Teale, a member of the Astley Bridge Cons team which won the league's Division One title for an eight successive time last week, will take over as chairman for next season.

On the night, Mr Greenwood's team, The Jolly Carter, were beaten in the final of the Ron Lewis Cup by the Albert@Bobs Smithy in a high scoring game, while The Brewhouse beat the Finishers in the Ian White Trophy.
