A FORMER adminisration assistant and a customer services manager who together fleeced a plastics firm out of more than £780,000 will face a probe into their financial affairs later this year.

Kathryn Jones, then aged 50, was jailed for 24 months last year at Preston Crown Court after it emerged she had systematically swindled Blackburn-based MGS Technical Plastics.

She was said to have spent her ill-gotten gains on luxury holidays, cars and handbags.

Jones, of Sough Road, Darwen, also enlisted her friend Beryl Shore into the scam, initially offering her a £500 loan before eventually transferring £184,654 into her accounts.

Shore, then 61, of Kirkdale Close, Darwen, was given a suspended prison sentence after admitting to theft.

Jones and Shore will now face further proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act, and could face further punishment if they cannot meet repayment orders.

In a brief hearing at Preston Crown Court, Judge Simon Newell fixed that hearing to take place on April 25.
