A SHOPLIFTER spat at a store detective who had followed her to another shop after foiling her efforts in his own establishment.
Blackburn magistrates heard Carla Clark was so drunk she could not remember anything of the incident.
Clark, 26, of Florence Avenue, Burnley, pleaded guilty to assaulting David Jones and theft of clothing worth £69 from TK Maxx in the town.
She was made subject to a curfew for eight weeks between 8pm and 6am and ordered to pay £50 compensation to Mr Jones.
Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting, said Clark was detained as she left TK Maxx and the clothing she had selected taken from her. Mr Jones tried to calm her and escort her back to the office but she was swinging her arms and swearing at him before pulling away.
"Mr Jones let her go but called the police and followed her to Poundstretcher where she spat at him," said Miss Akhtar. "He informed the manager that the police were on the way and she again spat at him."
Catherine Fell, defending, said Clark couldn't remember the incident because of the amount of alcohol she had consumed.
