The Bank opened in The Vaults in April 2017, it was visited by bailiffs on Thursday.

It is the latest restaurant to close in The Vaults after Gourmet Burger Kitchen shut in November.

The Bank owners’ post in full:

"Good evening all.

"We are aware that it is now public knowledge that we have had to close. We haven't been able to post, comment or reply for legal reasons. We have had amazing support from you all.

"It's with a heavy heart that it has come to this. We took a gamble moving into the vaults after having the opportunity to 'try' it out , then a full refurb January last year.

"It's been a heartbreaking time for us and our children, we have worked hard to try to grow but a number of factors have affected us this last year. We apologise for any inconvenience and we won't be able to comment any further due to legal reasons.

"I'm sure there will be speculation but we ask for respect to our children who are old enough to see and hear all that goes on.

"Thank you again. Much love and sadness

"Aron, Lyndsey and the amazing staff who made up The Bank team. X"
