PHOTOGRAPHERS are being asked to step back in time for our new Bolton News Camera Club competition.

To celebrate the work of local photographers, we are inviting amateur snappers to send in their pictures of "Historic Bolton".

Chief photographer Gus Sivyer said: "We have run a number of Bolton News Camera Club competition on different themes and the standard of entries has always been high.

"Bolton has a rich history and we want local photographers to document that as creatively and imaginatively as possible."

The competition will open from Saturday, January 12 and run until Saturday March 2.

During this period, you can submit as many images as you like. Mark your entries Historic Bolton, along with your name and email address and a description of the picture.

Prizes will be awarded for the top three images. The top prize winner will receive £50 cash, a printed canvas of their image and a bottle of bubbly.The runners-up will receive a canvas and a bottle of bubbly.
