WALKERS are invited to join a rambling club as they take on their first walks of the New Year.
Members of Bolton HF Walking Club have six walks of varying lengths and difficulties planned over the next fortnight.
Firstly, on Wednesday, January 9, there will be four walks beginning with an 11-mile trip around Swinshaw Moor. Walkers should meet at the rear of the market stalls, off Newchurch Road, Rawtenstall at 10am.
Then, there will be an eight-mile route around Thursden Valley Circular, beginning at 10.30am at Worsthorne Village Square. This begins at 10.30, the same time as the seven-mile walk around Turton Industries, meeting at The Barlow Institute and a five-mile Rivington walk, starting from Rivington and Blackrod High School.
On Saturday, January 12, there will be another six-mile walk from Station Road, Adlington, at 12.30pm, with a nine-mile trip on Sunday, January 13, from the Appley Bridge Station carpark at 10am.
