Polystyrene nativity 1967
THERE was something very different about this nativity scene in 1967. The tableau in Bolton Parish Church, was created by students at Bolton Art College using expanded polystyrene. "We wanted to achieve a white and shining scene to symbolise the simplicity of the nativity," said lecturer Russell Young.
