REFUNDS will be given to anyone who bought tickets for an event at a Bolton nightclub tonight - after ongoing "licensing issues" caused it to be called off.

A spokesman for Ikonic, on Nelson Square, said the launch of its Illuminati night has been delayed until next Saturday because the club is temporarily closed.

As well as refunds, those who have bought tickets will be issued with free entry to next week's event.

A spokesman said: "Ikonic Nightclub & Illuminati Events would like to release a joint statement in regards to an event that was due to take place at Ikonic on Friday 14th December 2018.

"Due to ongoing licensing issues we have had to move the date to the following Saturday, 22nd December 2018. For the people that have purchased a ticket, this will be refunded in full and they will be issued with a free entry ticket for the new date.

"We will also be giving away a further 300 free entry tickets for the event. We would like to stress that Ikonic Nightclub & Illuminati Events are working closely together to resolve the current issue. Apologies to anyone that has been affected by this issue."

Problems over licensing at the club came to light on November 30, when an event presented by Preston City Wrestling (PCW) had to be cancelled.
