If I may respond to WH Collison 'Let's get on with Brexit' (December 5), he says 'We were sneaked into the EU without a referendum'.

True, the Tory Prime Minister of the day Ted Heath signed up to join the EEC in 1973 without a referendum. In 1974 Harold Wilson's Labour government held a referendum which resulted in an overwhelming majority to stay.

WH Collison goes on to say 'Mrs May, God bless her, is the only one making positive decisions'. What nonsense.

By trying to please everyone she has ended up pleasing no one, hence the shambles we have today.

Over the last two and a half years her Government has been taken to the Supreme Court in order to allow MPs a vote on the deal and also have been charged with contempt of parliament, the first time in history.

To say that the whole process has been shambolic would be an understatement. Theresa May has to be the worst Prime Minister in living memory, possibly ever.

It's very likely that the UK voted for Brexit because of illegal overspending by the Vote Leave campaign, according to Oxford Professor Philip Howard's evidence to the High Court.

An exhaustive analysis of the campaign's digital strategy concludes it reached "tens of millions of people" after it's spending limits had been breached — enough to change the outcome. The evidence will be put to the High Court in a landmark case that is poised to rule within weeks whether the referendum result should be declared void because the law was broken.

How will this time in the country's history be remembered in a 100 years time? With disbelief I would guess.
