ROVERS fans were stuck on the motorway en route to the North East for Blackburn's away fixture.
Around 60 supporters were seen waiting near the hard shoulder on the M62 earlier today.
They were heading to Middlesbrough to watch Blackburn play in a Championship fixture.
A Rovers fan, Matty Cooke, who posted the image of stranded fans on Twitter, had originally said the coach had caught fire.

Could only happen to us. #Rovers #AwayDays pic.twitter.com/d74nHV4q4D
Mr Cooke later clarified that the fire was a small engine malfunction that caused sparks.
Just to clarify...the Blackburn coach hadn’t set on fire. It was a joke between us on the coach and wasn’t supposed to get so publicised! It was a small engine malfunction that caused sparks! #Rovers #AwayDays

It is thought a second coach arrived to ensure the fans made it to the game on time.
Don’t be so dramatic, our coach had a small engine fault and we had 2 coaches pick us up to ensure we arrived on time
