CHILDREN who were members of the Smithills branch of the League of Pity – the junior branch of the NSPCC – took along egg-shaped boxes to their Christmas party at Heaton Cricket Club in December, 1971. The boxes were emptied at the party and proceeds went to NSPCC funds. Do you recognise anyone in the picture? Call us on 01204 537271.
