There is always loads going on around the region. Here are our five top things to do or visit this week.

Not had the chance to have a first look around the new Egypt gallery in Bolton Central Library and Museum? Then why not join them for the last week of the museum’s special guided tour. The guided session will give you more of an insight into the gallery and the artefacts housed there. The final tour will take place on Tuesday December 11th at 2pm and will last for about an hour. This is a free event and there is no need to book.

Wednesday December 12 sees a special Light up a Life service held at Bolton Hospice starting at 6.30pm Every year hundreds of people dedicate a light to their loved one on Bolton Hospice’s Light up a Life trees and thousands of pounds are raised for the hospice. The services will include choirs, carols, readings, and a moment of silence as we sit and reflect on special memories before the lighting of the beautiful Light up a Life tree. The service is outside and is standing only, so make sure you wrap up warm and bring an umbrella.

Join us for a tea party as we celebrate 100 years since women first voted. A vote and a voice - how the First World War changed women’s lives event is being held at Bolton Central Library and Museum on Friday 14 December between 2pm and 3.30pm. There will also be the showing of three short films about women’s duties in the First World War during the event. Young fans can meet and greet some of their favourite players at the club's annual BWFC Juniors Christmas Party on Thursday 13 December. Set to take place in the Lion of Vienna Suite at the University of Bolton Stadium on Thursday 13 December, the party will run from 7pm until 9pm with tickets free for all BWFC Juniors members. Non-members can still join in the fun for just £5 per ticket, with adults required to pay £1 on the door on the night . Multi-platinum selling rockers Def Leppard are returning to Manchester Arena to perform their seminal Hysteria album in full, with special guests Cheap Trick. The seminal 1987 Hysteria album is rightly seen as a landmark recording in the history of rock music. It was the album that saw Def Leppard conquer the world with global hits such as Animal, Pour Some Sugar On Me, Hysteria, Woman and Rocket. The band will not only deliver Hysteria in full they will also perform other songs from their incredible back catalogue.
