A leading lawyer who has helped to prosecute some of the most high profile child exploitation cases in recent years has spoken out against the lack of media coverage when 'white paedophiles' are convicted.
Nazir Afzal later said that since his tweet he was inundated with requests for interviews.
There has been widespread mainstream media coverage on 'Asian' and in particular 'Pakistani' Grooming gangs targeting children.
Mr Afzal posted, "Grooming Gang of white vulnerable victims convicted "Strangely no National media coverage or phone calls asking my views on the matter "Wonder why?"

Later he said, "The wonder of @Twitter "The phone calls from the National media haven’t stopped since this tweet - now very interested in case! "There is no community where the grooming & abuse of girls by men is not happening "Let’s start listening to the voices of victims & doing justice."

His comments stirred many people to point out how the media only looked to highlight Asian perpetrators.
