A NATIONAL healthcare charity will open a new 'superstore' in Bury tomorrow.

The Sue Ryder store in Princess Parade will specialise in second-hand furniture, white goods and clothing at 'bargain prices', and will open its doors at 10am.

It is one of a new phase of stores introduced by Sue Ryder and joins more than 450 high street shops across the UK, including one in Bridge Street, Ramsbottom, that support the charity’s palliative, neurological and bereavement care.

Liz Yates, Sue Ryder retail area manager said: ‘‘We’re delighted to launch another of Sue Ryder’s ‘superstores’ here in Bury.

"The space in the new store allows us to sell larger items like furniture and white goods as well as a wider choice of goods – and all at the incredible prices you would expect at a Sue Ryder shop.

“Not only will you bag a bargain for your home or wardrobe at the new Bury store, you will also be helping Sue Ryder support people facing a terminal illness, a complex neurological condition or the loss of a loved one.

“Anyone interested in volunteering is welcome to pop in for a cup of tea and chat with our friendly team. We would love some help on the sales desk and with sorting donations and testing portable appliances. No experience is necessary as training is provided, and volunteering is a great way to meet people and pick up new skills.

“Donations can be dropped off at the store and items of furniture can be picked up from your home for free when you fill out the form at www.sueryder.org/furniture.’’
