THIS week’s mystery photograph looks like a scene from the Alfred Hitchcock film The Birds, but it is on our doorstep.
It’s a wide area, which looks like a wasteland of junk and rubbish and therein lies the clue, but do you know where it is and when the photograph was taken?
The cooling tower and chimneys in the background should also help.
Meanwhile, our mystery photograph from last week of an attractive tree lined road is in the Turton Tower area. It once was the area where Humphrey Chetham, who founded Manchester’s Chetham Hospital School, lived.
This photograph was originally published in July, 1939.
