SHOPS and streets in Radcliffe town centre could feature in a new comedy series.

Camera crews are descending on Blackburn Street to film scenes for the Sky One show 'Brassic', which stars Michelle Keegan, Joe Gilgun and Damien Molony, to name a few.

The show, about a group of working-class friends living in Lancashire, will air in 2019.

Most of the filming is being undertaken at the nearby town of Bacup.

However, crews are due to film inside the Classical Times Antiques and Collectibles shop and also at Bargain World in Blackburn Street, Radcliffe, today. The teams are working at the site between 8am and 8pm.

A letter sent to residents prior to the filming reads: "The Council has been notified of our intentions and we are hoping to speak to each and every one of you over the new few days, prior to our arrival.

"Throughout our operation, security personnel will be onsite to create a safe filming environment.

"We also have a location team who will be on-hand to liaise with the public during our stay.

"In the meantime, should you have any queries, questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to the opportunity of filming in your area."

Technical vehicles will be stationed in Blackburn Street and a number of vehicles will occupy the car park in Railway Street.

These areas were cordoned off with cones on Tuesday night prior to filming.
