POLICE say they are keen to hold more conversations about emerging community safety issues that may be affecting people’s neighbourhoods.

The first of these sessions will start in Crompton tonight with a view to hosting others throughout other parts of the town.

Hall I’th Wood residents are invited at 6pm to the Greenway Centre, Hall I’th Wood, Crompton. There is also a women-only session at 5pm on 26th November at the Cobden Centre, Felton Walk, Crompton.

Residents will have the opportunity to find out how Greater Manchester Police is tackling crime-related issues in Bolton and will be able to discuss how residents can work in partnership with the police and other agencies to address these challenges together.

Detective Inspector Tanya Kitchen said: “This is a great opportunity for people to discover what new crime types are affecting their area and what they can do to protect them, their families and their community.”

If you are a resident of either area, please feel free to come along to these events. There will be food and refreshments available. Please note, that the event on 26th November is for women only.

For more information on either of these events please contact Crompton ward councillors or Shaheen Sameja at Halliwell UCAN centre, or on 01204 335407.
