HUNDREDS paid tribute to Britain's fallen in a Remembrance Day event held today in Farnworth.
Farnworth Park was filled with rows and rows of poppies, each bearing the name of a person who died in the First World War.
The day began with a procession starting from 10:30am on Market Street and led by Farnworth and Walkden Band.
Then, members of the public gathered in Farnworth Park to hear Rev. Tony Cowell dedicate the day to all those who have given their lives in conflicts over the last hundred years.
Parade marshal Angela Quinn said: "It's the best one we've ever done. It's the first time for me as parade marshal and everyone was absolutely fantastic. It was beautiful.
"We're hoping to build on it for next year, there will be a little more added as well."
The event commemorated members of the armed forces from conflicts in Malaysia to a Falklands veteran who served on the HMS Sheffield.
Wreaths were laid by representatives of the emergency services, the Royal British Legion and members of the public.
