STUNNING drone footage has been released showing the progress of a new Blackburn housing development designed by one of the town’s most famous sons.
The first phase of the Green Hills estate with 61 homes is almost complete.
Work is due to start on stage two, with 53 properties, early next month.
The footage captured by a drone from builder Kingswood Homes shows completed houses and streets at the development designed by Blackburn-raised Wayne Hemingway and his Padiham-born wife Gerardine on the hills above the town.

Clearly visible on the video are the two interlinking village greens that will be the focal point of the scheme which will create 167 new homes off Livesey Branch Road.
Green Hills features 41 individual house designs in the first phase.
Mr Hemingway, founder of the iconic Red or Dead fashion business, said: “The film shows the vision we set out to achieve at Green Hills is well on its way.
“The aims of maximising the stunning views, creating two substantial village greens that will allow the community to 'breathe' and to create contemporary homes with a nod to Pennine barns are starting to shine through."
He added: “Seeing this development come to life shows how bespoke new homes can be designed to respect the character of an area.
“It is fantastic to see the scheme maturing and we confidently believe it will leave a positive legacy for Blackburn for many generations to come.”

Paul Jones, managing director of Kingswood Homes, said: “We have now sold or reserved nearly 50 homes at Green Hills.
“You only need to look at other new developments in the area to see how different Green Hills is."
He added: “It feels more spacious with homes being designed in loose groupings to replicate traditional Pennine farmstead buildings.
“Our first residents are loving their new homes.”
