YOUNG football fans enjoyed a ghoulish night of fun and games with some of the town’s stars of the pitch at the Bolton Wanderers FC Juniors’ annual Halloween Party.

More than 500 people came to the Premier Suite at the University of Bolton Stadium as families joined together for a night of spooky entertainment and a chance to meet some of the Whites’ first team players.

Captain David Wheater led the group of eight Wanderers’ stars, which also boasted Josh Magennis, Christian Doidge, Clayton Donaldson, Andrew Taylor, Remi Matthews, Will Buckley and Yanic Wildschut.

Many of the players brought their own children and partners along too.

The players took part in specially-themed party games with the children, including musical corners, mummy wrapping and apple bobbing, before taking their places for a signing session.

Fans were given the opportunity to take photos with the players and get their merchandise and shirts signed by the first teamers.

The players then helped to choose the winners of the fancy dress competition, with prizes including mascot packages for upcoming games.

Charlie, who dressed up as Michael Jackson, was first place in the five and under category while Evie, who dressed up as a Scarecrow, came top in the six and over category.

Speaking after the event, Wanderers skipper Wheater said: “It’s always a brilliant night when we come down to the Bolton Wanderers FC Juniors events. I’ve been bringing my own kids down here for the past few years and they absolutely love it.

“It was fantastic to see such a good turn out from our young fans, and their costumes were superb.

“We love being able to meet with them too as ultimately they’re the future of the fanbase and hopefully these memories of nights like this will stay with them down the years.”
