A POPULAR chocolatier is set to come to a town centre shopping mall, soon after a new cafe opens its doors.

Hotel Chocolat will take over a unit on the first floor of the Market Place, formerly occupied by Carphone Warehouse, in early November.

It comes alongside Bolton Bangers, a new cafe and bar which opened in The Vaults this week, offering a range of premium sausages and milkshakes.

The eatery began life in Bolton Market in 2017, before taking a stall at the Christmas Market. The new location at the Market Place marks a desire to extend opening hours and expand their menu.

Nikki Wilson-Cook, centre manager at Market Place said: “Bolton Bangers have a really unique offer which complements the other restaurants we have perfectly.

“They already have a bit of a cult following in Bolton so we expect to see a lot of very happy faces now they are open – their dishes are going to be very hard to resist.”

Alongside classic sausage sandwiches, the cafe will offer a range of German sausages in a number of flavours, as well as Bolton’s Biggest Banger, an 8oz sausage with stuffing, cheese, egg and apple sauce all in a large bun.

There are also desserts on offer, with ice creams, sundaes, cakes and even alcoholic and non-alcoholic flavoured milkshakes.

The two new outlets are part of a number of offerings expected to open in the Market Place.

Hotel Chocolat will be the first brand of its kind to open in the shopping centre and Ms Wilson-Cook said she was “very excited” about the announcement.

“I’m sure everybody’s tested their products,” she said. “They are going to bring in a premium offer and they have other things to offer as well.

“There’s various things available, they even sell Christmas puddings, believe it or not. It’s something completely different and new for us.”

As well as puddings, Hotel Chocolat will offer Christmas gifts, including boxes of chocolate, luxury hot chocolate drinks and even chocolate-flavoured liqueurs. Currently the closest locations are in the Trafford Centre and Manchester city centre.
