CARPETS have been advertised throughout the country for centuries to be used as a floor covering.
The advert, which was publicised in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph in 1979, displays prices of a range of carpets made by Accrington carpet firm Glen Mill Carpets Ltd.
The company, based on Peel Street at the time, was advertising an array of carpets, including a Red Turkey design which was made from 100 per cent wool.
At the time Glen Mill Carpets Ltd claimed to be the leading carpet specialists in East Lancashire and were inviting people to an exclusive carpet event.
In the advert the company describes itself as "the best in town".
