TEENAGER Sam Armstrong took centre stage on A-level day.
The anticipation of result's day came to a dramatic and happy conclusion for 18-year-old Turton School student who found out he achieved A* in English literature, and A in psychology and religious studies, giving him the grades to start the next chapter of his life.
Sam, a talented actor, is preparing to go to York University to study theatre, writing, directing and performance.
He said: "I really excited about going to York. I want to go into directing and teaching.
"I discovered acting when I was in primary school and we put on a Halloween version of Romeo and Juliet and liked it ever since."
Sam added: "I worked hard and didn't really give anything up, though I did cut down. I am really pleased with my results."
