A WOMAN who fell to her death from a balcony inside John Lewis has been named as Hannah Bharaj, from Bolton.

The 20-year-old was taken to hospital on July 12, after falling 60ft from the top floor balcony of the department store in Cheadle, Stockport.

Ms Bharaj died from her injuries the following day at Salford Royal Hospital.

A police investigation concluded that the cause of the fall was 'not suspicious'.

An inquest into Ms Bharaj’s death has now been opened by the South Manchester Coroner and adjourned to a future date for a full hearing.

It's not the first time that a person has fallen from the upper level balcony of Cheadle's John Lewis store.

In February 2016, a pensioner plunged 60ft from the top floor balcony.

But the woman, aged in her 70s, miraculously survived with non-life threatening injuries to her spine and hips.
