THE M60 is closed anti-clockwise between junctions 21 and 20 after a multi-vehicle collision.
North West Motorway Police have been deployed to the scene and motorists have been advised to allow extra times for their journeys if travelling in the area.
Road users are advised to follow "Hollow Diamond" diversion symbols and exit the motorway at junction 21 onto Semple Way northbound.
They can then turn left onto the A663 (southbound) towards Manchester, turn right onto the A6104 (Hollinwood Avenue), turn right onto the A664 towards junction 20 of the M60 and then re-join.
