POLICE have issued a warning about a bogus caller operating in the Kearsley area.
Officers in Bolton say the caller claim to be working for the water board to gain entry to homes before stealing their belongings.
Writing on Facebook, GMP Bolton Central stated: "Please be aware of a bogus caller operating in the Kearsley area.
"This caller is claiming to be working for the water board and is asking residents to run their taps whilst they then steal their belongings. "This person is targeting elderly residents areas and insecure properties with vulnerable people within.
"All authorized personnel from utility companies will have identification on them and you would be able to contact their head offices if you have any queries on the call.
"Please be vigilant in your local area."
