A CONSULTATION by Lancashire County Council on proposals to stop delivering its children and family wellbeing service from 19 buildings ends on Friday.

The authority wants to cut the number of premises used to provide the function from 76 to 57 across 12 boroughs as part of a bid to save £1.2million.

Buildings under threat of losing the services include Fairfield Children's Centre in Accrington, Great Harwood Young People's Centre, The Chai and Whitegate Children's Centre in Burnley, Earby Community Centre, Walton Lane Children's Centre in Nelson, Colne Young People's Centre, and Ribblesdale Children's Centre in Clitheroe.

Views from the eight week consultation will be considered by the county council's cabinet before it makes its final decision about the proposals in October.
