A BACKDATED application a hut for bowling teams at a Blackburn pub has been approved.
Councillors on Blackburn with Darwen Council Planning Committee gave retrospective permission for for the log-effect cabin at the Butlers Arms in Pleasington to remain on Thursday
Building work on the development was completed at the end of April.
The building provides accommodation for the Butler’s Arms bowling team.
The committee gave approved despite Tory spokeswoman Cllr Jacqueline Slater objecting to the backdated nature of the application.
She and her fellow Conservative members voted against the approval but the Labour councillors voted in favour ensuring a majority in favour.
Committee chairman Cllr Dave Smith said: "The fact that the application was retrospective did not mean we could refuse it."
An officers' report into the application recommended that members grant permission.
