Last week Bellegrove A pushed the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Tier Two East leaders all the way and they commented that a victory would soon come Bellegrove’s way, well it came their way this week.

They’ve waited since October 2017 and they sneaked a, 2-1 & 8-7 triumph against third placed Royal Oak.

Steve Hughes and Jack Taylor gave Bellegrove A. Brilliant start, winning the first two frames but Royal Oak made a great comeback and pinched the first set, 3-2.

The first two frames of the second set were shared but Joe Hills and Captain, John Skuza secured the set for Bellegrove to make it one set a piece, before Steve Heather took the last frame to tie the match at five frames all.

Royal Oak took the first frame of the last set but Hughes, Hills and Taylor won the next three to give Bellegrove the set and their first victory, before Steve Heather brought Royal Oak back to within one frame.

It was a lucky night for Royal Oak’s Heather’s, as Steve won all three of his frames and Will was successful in two of his three.

Bellegrove’s Taylor also won two out of three but Hills and Hughes were unbeaten winning two and three frames respectively.

Skuza is so proud of his team, coming back week after week after being beaten and trying again, coming close on occasions then eventually striking gold this week.

North Heath Social Club are five points ahead of Royal Oak in second place, after they had a comfortable win against CSC Mr’s & Miss Q’s.

They sandwiched two, 3-2 triumphs in the first and thirds set with a damaging, 4-1 win in the second to seal a, 3-0 & 10-5 overall victory.

Dave Selby, playing his first match for a year and a half showed no ring rust in winning both of his frames however, Ian Stringer and Brett Crawley went one better with unbeaten hat-tricks.

Three points ahead of North Heath, sitting at the top of the table are New Eltham, after a less than convincing, 3-0 & 9-6 victory over Eltham Terrace Rack Pack.

The first two sets followed a similar pattern, with Rack Pack taking a, 2-1 lead only for New Eltham to come back with Paul Elford equalising and Barry Barham winning the final frame decider and they went on to win the final set by the same score.

Both teams had two players on unbeaten hat-tricks, Elford and Barham for New Eltham and Adam Watts and Tony Frost for Rack Pack.

Rack Pack are now second from bottom, four points ahead of Bellegrove and three behind CSC.

Bellegrove Superstars couldn’t emulate their neighbours and pick up their first win of the season in SLKPA Tier Two West.

Again they were short on numbers, only having four players but Rose Inn were professional in their demolition of Superstars, whitewashing the first set, 5-0 and taking the second set, 4-1 to have the match won and the bonus point secured before the start of the last set.

Superstars put up a brave performance in the last set but Rose Inn were still too strong, taking it, 3-2 for an overall, 3-0 & 12-3 victory.

Con Delaney and Neil Mundy were both unbeaten, winning two and three frames respectively but had byes to help them whereas Leighton Aston played and won all three of his frames.

Rose Inn have leapfrogged Woolwich Wolfpack into second place, after they were beaten by top of the table, Sharks.

In the first two sets it didn’t look like a top of the table clash, as Sharks won them both, 4-1 to gain the bonus point but Wolfpack fought hard and edged the final set, 3-2 to give Sharks the, 2-1 &10-5 triumph.

Eno Idiong and Arif Salih were the inspiration behind the victory, both winning all three of their frames.

Wolfpack are now three points behind Rose Inn and four points ahead of fourth placed Crayford Social Club Rugrats, after they triumphed against Fox & Hounds.

They did the damage in the first set, winning it, 4-1 but Fox came back and took the second set, 3-2 however, Rugrats had a little bit too much for Fox, taking the final set, 3-2 for an overall, 2-1 & 9-6 victory.

Neil Shelton kept his team in the match by winning a frame in each set, as did Steve King and Pat Firth for Rugrats.

New Eltham Club hold bragging rights over New Eltham Social Club, after they won, 2-1 & 11-4 to stay unbeaten at the top of SLKPA Tier Three.

The table toppers started well, taking a, 4-1 lead into the second set however, New Eltham Social Club staged a fight back and won the second set, 3-2 but it was all in vain as their neighbours went on to whitewash the final set, 5-0.

It was a captain’s performance by Jeff Bailey, scoring a hat-trick and he was joined by Gary Mason on three out of three, with support from Jamie Phillips, who won two of his three frames.

Bexleyheath Working Mans Club overtake New Eltham Social Club and go into third, as their good form continues with a win over Lord Kitchener.

The bottom side started well but in the end Bexleyheath were too strong, taking the first set, 3-2 and that strength continued as they won the next two sets, 4-1 for an overall, 3-0 & 11-4 triumph.

Sandwiching Bexleyheath and New Eltham Club are another in form side, Academicals in second.

This week they had a tough match against Red Barn however, it looked like it was going to be far from tough, as they took a, 4-1 lead in the first set.

Red Barn didn’t let this get them down though and they won the second set by the same score to tie the match at one set and five frames all.

The final set was much closer than the previous two but Academicals just edged it, 3-2 to triumph, 2-1 in sets and 8-7 in frames.

Academicals are now three points behind the league leaders and the same amount ahead of third place.

The final game in the division was another derby, as Happy Hustlers took on Real Hustlers.

It was a very close game where each set was won by the odd frame, 3-2 with both teams sharing the first two but Happy Hustlers finished the happier of the two, nicking the final set for a, 2-1 & 8-7 victory.

There was also two derby matches in the SLKPA Elite League, both played at Eltham Terrace.

Top of the table and unbeaten Hotshots faced Eltham Terrace Nuthouse and it was the latter who got off to the better start, winning the first frame but Tony Wilson carried on his great form from last week with another break and dish, his fourth in a row, to tie the match.

Danny Kelliher produced a dish from a dry break to put Hotshots in the lead but Zoe Healy levelled, before Steve Krishnan clinched the set for the league leaders.

Hotshots were just too strong in the second set, whitewashing it, 5-0 to win the match and secure the bonus point.

Nuthouse were looking to steal a point in the last set and it looked like they might when Aaron Shephard dished from a dry break to tie the set at one all, but that would be their last frame on the night, as Hotshots won the last three to take the set, 4-1 and win the match overall, 3-0 & 12-3.

Wilson, Kelliher and Krishnan all went on to complete unbeaten hat-tricks to keep their team unbeaten at the top of the table.

Eltham Terrace Club A go three points behind Hotshots with their own derby day victory over Eltham Terrace Rovers.

The A team got off to the perfect start, whitewashing the first set, 5-0 which included a break and dish from Ben McIntosh.

The second set was much closer but Terrace A narrowly took it, 3-2 before going on to win the last set, 4-1 for a convincing, 3-0 & 12-3 triumph.

Despite the size of the victory there was only two unbeaten players, Dan Heinink and Dean De'Araujo, who both scored three out of three.

Fourth played third as Hustlers Simply Lovleh took on Allstars and it was Allstars who stretched their lead to five points in the table, after they picked up maximum points with a, 3-0 & 10-5 victory.

Stacy Redman and Derek Power both scored unbeaten hat-tricks and they were supported by Ritchie Mitchell who won two of his three frames.
