A ROAD is shut after a caravan that was being towed overturned today.
The crash was reported to police at about 2.50pm and involved a silver Toyota car that was towing the caravan.
The collision occurred on the A56 Haslingden bypass at the Todmorden Junction in Rossendale.
North West Motorway Police tweeted that the A56 Haslingden bypass at Grane Road is closed due to the collision.
The road will be re-opened as soon as recovery is completed.
A police spokesman said: "We were called at 2.50pm to the A56 Haslingden bypass near the Todmorden junction.
"A caravan being towed by a silver Toyota car was on its roof in the centre of the carriageway."
