IMAGES have been released of a major new housing development in the Ribble Valley.

Developer Hillcrest Homes are currently constructing 30 new homes at The Warren, on Whalley Road, Hurst Green.

The development includes two-bedroom bungalows, three-bedroom semi-detached homes, two and three-bedroom terraced homes and four and five-bedroom family homes.

Each home has been exclusively designed for The Warren and is inspired by the location and local architecture, a Hillcrest Homes spokesman said.

The homes will surround a village green with a 200-year-old ash tree at its centre.

An animated fly-through movie and computer-generated images were revealed to people attending an information day at The Shireburn Arms Hotel in Hurst Green earlier this year.

The event allowed residents and interested parties the opportunity to find out more about the development.

Simone Milner, sales manager at Hillcrest, said: “We are delighted with the response to our open day.

“The attendance exceeded our expectations with many local residents as well as prospective buyers calling in to look at the images, view the plans, and express their interest in the homes we are creating at The Warren.

“We couldn’t have had a warmer welcome to the area and it was amazing to meet with everyone and share our fantastic new images and fly-through movie.”

Ward councillor Janet Alcock said opinion on the new development was split between those who want it and others who don’t want them the village.

She said: “It’s a mix of houses which strikes me as good.

"I think there is room to encourage development to build decent-sized and attractive bungalows as well as houses.

“We are building these big estates in Clitheroe and Longridge but to me development wants to be proportionate across the borough.

“People who live in Hurst Green have four generations in the village and people like to retire here.”

The Warren will be released for sale in September, with the first homes ready to move into in February 2019 and the full scheme completion due by summer next year.
