A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital after a hit and run in Deane Road, near Bolton College.
Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that collided with a motorbike near the junction with College Way.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital and is understood to have suffered a fractured wrist.
Around seven police vehicles and several officers were called to the scene shortly after 8.15pm on Tuesday.
A police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 8.16pm to an incident involving a vehicle and a motorbike.
"The motorcyclist was taken to hospital and has possibly suffered a fractured wrist.
"The incident does not appear to be too serious.
"There is one vehicle outstanding."
Police initially shut off Deane Road in both directions, at the junctions with Stanley Street South and College Way.
The road was later reopened.
A passerby, who asked to remain anonymous, said: "I saw paramedics surrounding someone on the floor at around 8.30pm.
"There were lots of police in attendance. It looked serious.
"The road was cordoned off."
