BLACKBURN Council leader Mohammed Khan is seeking to build an extension to his home.
The Labour politician wants to add a single storey area kitchen and bathroom extension to his terraced house in Lancaster Place in his Wensley Fold ward.
Because Cllr Khan is an elected member of Blackburn with Darwen Council his application for the alteration has to be conidered by the borough planning committee.
The extension would be 3.9metres high and projects five metres from the original back wall of the mid-terraced property.
The officers' report to the committee notes that 'a similar application has been submitted for No. 46
Lancaster Place for an extension of the same size, scale and design."
It recommends 'approval is granted, subject to works being undertaken in accordance with the submitted information."
