ENGLAND fans raised a glass to their team as Harry Kane sealed a victory in their opener against Tunisia.

Supporters were in high spirits in the build up to the match at the Bees Knees bar in Blackburn.

However when the captain headed home in stoppage time, fans leapt out of their seats with delight and relief.

Martin Thomas said: “England played well and they deserved to win.
“We had all the chances, all the possession and played much better than Tunisia -well done lads.”

Fans also watched the match on the big screens outside Blackburn town hall, after it was unclear whether Blackburn with Darwen Council would show it.

Before the match, John Metcalf said he was anxious to see how the game would go.

He said: “It’s always worrying when England play because you think the game will be difficult and frustrating.

“We need three points to take into the next match.”

Stephen Duerden said: “I think we are going to win the tournament. I’ve got a good feeling.
