A CARE home hosted a staff award ceremony which has been running for five years.

Manor House nursing home in Chatburn was again hosting the Annual Achievers Award ceremony where members of staff are nominated for going the 'extra mile' in their job.

The Achievers Award commenced in 2013 in memory of Karen Walker who lost her fight with cancer, aged 56. She had been a training manager at Manor House for 16 years and is said to have wished for staff to achieve their best.

This year 62 nomination slips were received regarding 28 different members of staff.

The winner of the Achievers Award went to Mrs Joan Delafield from the catering team who lives at West Bradford.

She was followed jointly by Susan Barnes from the admin team, Lynn Murray and Liz Tomlinson from housekeeping.

A snacks buffet, sparkling wine and flowers were later distributed as part of the celebrations.
