A FLY-TIPPING warrior has scooped a community ward for her cleaning efforts.
Christine Howarth took home the Great Places Housing Community Stars Award for organising a community ‘clean up’ day in Tonge Moor, Bolton.
When she became concerned about the levels of litter and fly-tipping, she contacted Great Places, with them, her neighbours and other local agencies to improve the look of her community.
Christine said: “I really didn’t expect to win! Mostly, I’m delighted for my granddaughter, who came with me to the awards."
