A WASHING machine caught fire in a house.
Fire crews were called to reports of a fire at a home in Burnley involving a washing machine shortly before 10.30am today.
There was some damage to the washing device and some light smoke damage in the kitchen area of the Coal Clough Lane property, a fire spokesman said.
It is thought the fire started because of an electrical fault but an investigation into the cause is still ongoing.
A fire spokesman said: "We received reports of a washing machine fire in a house shortly before 10.30am.
"There was an electrical fault which was isolated because of the fire.
"There was some damage to the unit and light smoke damage to the kitchen.
"No-one was reported injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation."
