After reporting last week that there were only four unbeaten records left in the South London & Kent Pool Alliance that has been halved this week, as both the leaders in the Tier Two divisions, Sharks and North Heath Social Club were beaten.

Sharks lose their grip at the top of Tier Two West, after they were narrowly beaten by second placed Rose Inn, who replaced them at the top, as a result.

It was a very close match, as you would expect with the top two playing each other but Sharks got off to the better start, taking the first set, 3-2.

Dean Greaney-Parr and Lewis Hearn brought Rose back into it by winning the first two frames of the second set, but Sharks levelled it, before Rose Captain, Neil Mundy kept his head to win the deciding frame, making the score all square at one set and five frames all.

The final set swung one way then the other culminating in another final frame decider, which Leighton Aston took to give Rose the, 2-1 & 8-7 triumph to leapfrog their opponents into top spot.

Rose didn’t finish with any unbeaten players but Aston, Greaney-Parr and Hearn all won two of their three frames, but Sharks can claim some solace in the fact Eno Idiong won all three of his frames.

There is only one point separating the top two with Woolwich Wolfpack just two points behind them in third, despite sharing the points with Fox & Hounds this week.

Wolfpack took a, 3-1 lead but Fox won the next three frames to go one in front, only for Wolfpack to take the final three frames to not only win the first two sets but also take a, 6-4 lead going into the final set.

Fox won the first two frames of the last set to level the match in frames again, but Wolfpack went one ahead with the third frame before Fox took the final two frames, with Alan Dolan securing the bonus point, making the final score, 2-1 in sets to Wolfpack but, 8-7 in frames to Fox.

Glen Ward and Clive Forrest were both unbeaten on two frame wins for Fox, but Trevor Biggs put in a captain’s performance for Wolfpack with a hat-trick.

Wolfpack remain in third, but Fox drop one place to fifth, after Crayford Social Club Rugrats incredible, 3-0 & 11-4 victory over bottom club Bellegrove Superstars.

North Heath hold on to pole position in SLKPA Tier Two East despite a crushing, 3-0 & 10-5 defeat to second placed, New Eltham.

The first two sets were scrappy affairs but New Eltham took them both by three frames to two, but they turned on the style in the last set with Dec Kelly producing a fine clearance in the first frame and Barry Barham finished it off with a dish from a dry break to take the set, 4-1.

Captain, Paul Elford led from the front with three out of three and he was joined by new signing James Couch.

This victory put New Eltham on the same points as North Heath, but they stay above them by winning just two more frames.

Three points behind them are Royal Oak who beat Eltham Terrace Rack Pack this week.

Rack Pack got off to the better start, taking the first set, 3-2 but Royal Oak did the damage in the second set, winning it, 4-1 before going on to win the final set, 3-2 making the overall score, 2-1 & 9-6.

Royal Oak had three unbeaten players, with Phil Tworek, Sam Kinsville and Will Heather all winning both their frames, but Rack Pack’s Adam Watts trumped that with three out of three.

CSC Mr’s & Miss Q’s continued their good start to the season, winning each set, 4-1 for an overall, 3-0 & 12-3 triumph against bottom team Bellegrove A.

It was a bad day at the office for Bellegrove, with only Pat Melia, one frame and young Jack Taylor, two frames, picking up wins.

Martin Hart won two out of two for CSC, but James Coomber and Luke Matthews went one better with unbeaten hat-tricks.

CSC are now in fourth, just five points behind the top two, so this division is looking to be a close-run thing.

Also shaping up to go right down to the wire is the SLKPA Elite League, with only five points separating the top five teams.

Hotshots are still unbeaten, four points clear at the top, after they were handed a victory this week by bottom team Bellegrove Flyers, who could not field a team.

Rising into second, leapfrogging their opponents, Eltham Terrace Rovers and Eltham Terrace Club A are Hustlers Simply Lovleh.

It was a very close game with Simply Lovleh just edging it, 2-1 & 8-7.

Tony Stork and Paul Donohoe both won two of their three frames, but Kevin Smith recorded three frame wins for the third time this season.

Eltham Terrace Club A drop to third after they were beaten by Pickwick, who have recently found some form, picking up their second win of the season.

It was another tight match, with Pickwick taking it by the odd set and odd frame, 2-1 & 8-7 with Joe Kane winning the final frame decider for the second week running, on his way to an unbeaten hat-trick.

As well as Kane, Dave Jandu also scored three out of three, with Billy Levingbird unbeaten on two frame wins.

Pickwick didn’t have it all their own way though, as Phil O’Kane scored a maximum three wins and Dan Foley recorded a break and dish in the first set.

This was a vital win for Pickwick, as they came back from both, 6-5 and 7-6 to record the victory that puts them into sixth.

Three points ahead of Pickwick are Allstars who, this week played Eltham Terrace Nuthouse, who are two points behind Pickwick.

Nuthouse won the first four frames, taking the first set, but Allstars took the next eight, for the second set and bonus point however, Nuthouse were successful in the last three frames to pick up the last set and share the points, with an overall score of, 2-1 in sets to Nuthouse but, 8-7 in frames to Allstars.

Nuthouse Captain, Craig Jones won both of his frames and he was supported by Jon Syta with two wins out of three, including a dish from a dry break in the penultimate frame.

Derek Power showed his power and was the star for Allstars, winning all three of his frames.

New Eltham Club stay unbeaten at the top of SLKPA Tier Three, but they didn’t have it all their own way against fifth placed Happy Hustlers.

The first two sets were shared, with both teams winning one set, 3-2 so it was all to play for in the final set.

New Eltham Club ramped it up in the final set, taking it by 4 frames to 1 for an overall, 2-1 & 9-6 triumph.

Academicals recent run of good form, winning four on the trot, has taken them into second place, after they comprehensively beat seventh place, Real Hustlers.

It was the perfect start, with Academicals whitewashing the first set, 5-0, which included an excellent clearance by Jenny Pearmund.

They went on to take the second set, 4-1 to gain the bonus point before the last set started, which they also took, 3-2 for an overall, 3-0 & 12-3 triumph, as Academicals had too much firepower for Real Hustlers.

Those with the most power were Gary Mason and Tony Gear, who both recorded unbeaten hat-tricks.

Academicals are now three points behind New Eltham Club and just two points ahead of their sister side, New Eltham Social Club, who were surprisingly beaten by Bexleyheath Working Mans Club this week.

It was a remarkably close game, as each set was won by the odd frame, 3-2, with both sides sharing the first two and Bexleyheath nicking it in the third for an overall, 2-1 & 8-7 victory.

This result means that New Eltham Social Club have dropped to third and Bexleyheath are just three points behind in fourth.

The two brand new teams, Red Barn and Lord Kitchener faced each other this week and it looks like Red Barn are fairing better, as they were, 3-0 & 11-4 victors.

The score line did flatter Red Barn somewhat, as Lord Kitchener only had four players and that would prove crucial in both the first and last sets.

Red Barn won the first two frames, but Lord Kitchener levelled it before having to give the last frame of the set away.

The damage was done in the second set, with Red Barn whitewashing it, 5-0, then the final set swung one way then the other, before Red Barn took the penultimate frame and again were given the final frame, to take the set.

It was a good all round team performance by Red Barn but Mike Peka was particularly in form, winning all three of his frames, as did Michael and Melissa Barnes, for the second week running.

This result moves Red Barn into fifth place, but Lord Kitchener are rooted to the bottom.
