Tony Mowbray hopes Rovers will have announcements to make soon as contract talks with a number of their players remain ongoing.

The club have opened contract talks with Bradley Dack and Darragh Lenihan as they look to tie down the futures of two of their star names.

Danny Graham and Craig Conway see their current deals expire at the end of this month, with Rovers having offered fresh terms to the experienced pair ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Both are understood to be keen to stay, with Mowbray hopeful the talks will reach a positive end.

Graham, 33 in August, and 33-year-old Conway are considering the offer of a one year deal from Rovers with Mowbray keen to keep the experienced duo on board for Rovers’ return to the Championship next season.

The Rovers boss returned from holiday this week to continue his preparations for the 2018/19 campaign and that has included overseeing contract talks.

League One player of the year Dack, who scored 18 goals last season, is among those set to be rewarded for their form in 2017/18 with the offer of a new deal.

Lenihan meanwhile, who made his Republic of Ireland debut earlier this month, is moving in to the final 12 months of his current contract.

And Mowbray told the Lancashire Telegraph: “I think they are all moving along and progressing nicely.

“I would hope we could some announcements on our already signed footballers over the next week or two.

“They are difficult situations – there is no urgency as new contracts won’t kick in until the end of June.

“The negotiation side of things are always difficult at this stage of the year.

“But I would hope that we have some announcements to make in the next few weeks.”

He added: “I think some of the players worked really hard last year and I want to reward them and make them feel like they have an opportunity to prove themselves in the next division up and see them as the future of the club for the next few years.

“It’s important to have a consistency, a foundation and solidity of the team that did so well last year for us and give them an opportunity moving forward.”

Rovers announced their retained list in May which saw first-team duo Elliott Ward and Liam Feeney released, with Conway and Graham offered fresh terms.
