A late-night police chase through Eltham ended with a car on its roof and six men arrested.
The whole incident started after midnight last night (June 6) at 1.40am when officers in a police helicopter said they saw an attempted robbery of a car in Middle Park Avenue.
According to the National Police Air Service, the occupants of three cars were confronting the driver in a fourth car.
When ground police forces went to investigate, all four cars involved drove off.
Cue the midnight chase through the streets of Eltham, culminating in Eltham Green Road when the chase came to a dramatic stop.
One witness on the street said he saw the car “in someone’s front garden upside down” and he had to be taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Officers at the scene also found a discarded frightening machete with a 30cm blade.
Six men between the ages of 22 and 27 have been arrested and remain in custody at a south London police station.
