A teenage motorcycle racer from Forest Hill has joined an elite group of young bike racers to compete with the nation’s best.

Cameron Horsman is 17 years old and is studying in sixth form in Sydenham but is already making waves in the motorcycle racing world.

He started getting involved with bikes when he was only seven years old and recently has been putting in some eye-catching performances.

He was selected as one of 23 young racers by the organisers of MotoGP in what is called the British Talent Cup.

The competition aims to find the best riders in the UK and Ireland in the hopes they will make the step up to the world stage.

The first race has already taken place, but our Forest Hill boy overcame the setback of having to start at the back of the grid to race all the ways up into sixth.

Cameron is supported by Nova Engineering and FAB Racing and these races give him a significant chance to make progress in the highly competitive sport.
