IT was standing room only as more than 450 people packed into the Longfield Suite, Prestwich, for a tribute night with the stars.

Reigning British ballroom dance champions Mia and Andrei, aged 14, took to the stage to delight the audience alongside several acts which helped raise a huge £15,000 for two good causes.

Coronation Street star Sam Aston, who plays Chesney Brown, made a special guest appearance at the show, which was compered by Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket.

Visitors also enjoyed tributes to Neil Diamond, Abba, Ariana Grande, Tom Jones and Elvis, as well as music by The Blues Brothers.

Organised by Warner Entertainment in conjunction with the Tender Loving Care (TLC) Committee, the event helped raise £15,000 for The Christie Hospital and The TLC (Tomas Leighton Care) Charity, which was set up to help a 12-year-old disabled boy receive specialist medical care.

One of the highlights of the evening was a musical medley performed by children from King David Primary School, and Bury and Whitefield Jewish Primary School.

They joined Maxine and Brian Warner on stage to sing tunes from Joseph and The Sound of Music, during their 'tribute to the musicals' set.

Also taking part were The Jewish Theatre Company choir.
