FLY-TIPPERS and arsonists have been warned they are putting lives at risk after firefighters were called out to a popular dumping spot.

One crew from Blackburn Station attended the incident in Hole House Street, Blackburn, at around 11am on Saturday.

Crew manager Kane Dark said firefighters had been called to the site a number of times in recent weeks.

A fire service spokesman added: “Blue watch attended several fires on Hole House Street this morning. This area is notorious with fly tipping. These nuisance fires are real a strain on resources.”

Blackburn with Darwen Council has been made aware of the fly-tipping issue on the site.
