A PHOTOGRAPHY student with a passion for taking pictures of insects has secured a major exhibition at Manchester Museum.
Martin Wilson , who is studying at Blackburn College, will showcase his ‘red list’, a collection of rare and endangered insects within the UK.
The 36-year-old said he creates the images using a technique called ‘focus stacking’ where multiple images are taken at different focus distances to produce an image with a greater depth of field.
He said: “I adapted the process with my own macro stage and various pieces of equipment that I have modified to help me defuse the light and create the desired effect.”
“Hopefully the exhibition will raise awareness to the plight of these insects and the damage that we are doing to their habitat.”
The photographs will be exhibited from November to March 2019.
