A MAN who walked out of a store with a 32 inch TV told police someone had asked him to take it.
Shaun Patrick Varley, 45, of Marsden Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty at Blackburn magistrates theft from Tesco.
He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months and made subject to a community order for 12 months with a six-months drug rehabilitation order and 10 days rehabilitation activity.
He was ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge.
The chairman of the magistrates told Varley the offence was aggravated by his record and the fact he had stolen to order.
