A BLACKBURN school has been praised by Ofsted for the way it treats its pupils.

Brookhouse primary was described as a "good school where pupils are well cared for by a dedicated staff team".

The report went on to say: "Pupils enjoy coming to school and show positive attitudes towards work. Their behaviour is exemplary."

The Troy Street school was judged to be good in all areas in the report. It also said that teaching and learning were good in the main and that staff had raised their expectations of what pupils could achieve.

Delighted headteacher Jacquelyn Young said: "I am very pleased we have been judged a good school. I would like to thank the pupils, the staff and everyone involved with the school for their hard work in making Brookhouse such a stimulating place to learn."
