THREE cars were broken into in two neighbouring Colne streets.
On Friday night and into the early hours of Saturday, a Peugeot 106 in Dewhurst Street had its driver's door forced open and a car stereo, speakers and a sub woofer stolen.
Also in Dewhurst Street, a Toyota Avensis was forced open, and a CD player, 20 CDs and a pink leather dog collar were stolen, while on Beacon Close almost £1,500 worth of goods were taken from a Vauxhall Astra.
The car's door had been forced and glass removed from its window. A stereo, 50 CDs and a £700 laptop computer were taken.
Sgt John Fryer appealed for information about the thefts and asked the public to be more vigilant, taking expensive items with them out of their cars, particularly when they were being left overnight.
